MicroEnterprise Africa (MEA) is a UK based charity working with farmers and entrepreneurs in Africa.  We work principally in Malawi.

We provide finance, technical advice and business mentoring to smallholders and emerging small businesses.  Our basic belief is that the most reliable way out of poverty is to help people create strong profitable businesses which can employ others.

MEA focuses on two critical areas of need – agriculture and investing in small business.

In agriculture we have invested in two hub farms and these farms provide inputs, farming advice and markets for around 1000 smallholders.

In addition to our work in agriculture, we also support entrepreneurs to set up small businesses which can grow and employ people.

We are a small charity and welcome volunteers joining in with our work. They might just visit Malawi to see what is going on or alternatively bring skills or finance to support specific business which interests them.
